Stock, tools and crates, item by item.

InSight RFID puts a label on each item and reads it at doors, docks and shelves, or with a handheld. Your clients see where each item was last seen, who has it, and what went out and came back, in the same account they use for their vehicles.

What your clients do with it.

Find anything

Type a name, a serial or asset number, a tag, or what's under a barcode. The answer says where the item was last seen, how that's known, and who has it.

Check out and in

Tools and equipment go out to a team, a contractor or a customer with a date to come back. Overdue items are on the first screen.

Book ahead

Items can be booked for the people who'll need them. A booked item isn't handed to somebody else without a supervisor's say-so and a reason.

Despatch and receive

A dock door reads straight into the despatch as goods go through. Anything on the list that wasn't read is marked short by a person, with a reason.

Count

A count compares what was read with what the records expect, and says plainly which places nobody counted.

Inspections and kits

Lifting gear and safety equipment stay in date, with a work order when an inspection fails. Kits are checked before they go out and again when they come back.

An item's page tells its story.

Where it was last seen and how that's known, who has it and since when, its tag, its bookings, and the doors it went through, in order.

Labels are encoded and printed from the account's own number ranges, and each one is read back before it goes on the item, so no number is used twice.

  • Seen in a place or passing a door, with the time and how clear the read was
  • Who has it, on which document, and when it's due back
  • Your clients' own fields: a cost centre, a safe working load, a calibration date
  • Search by those fields, limit alerts to them and add them to reports

Booked for the people who'll need it.

A booking keeps items for a team, a contractor or a customer from one time to another. Book several together and they're booked together or not at all.

Checking an item out to the people it's booked for collects the booking, and the first screen warns when an item is still out with somebody else close to the start.

  • Book from the Bookings screen or from the item itself
  • Overrides need the right role and a reason, which is kept
  • Bookings at risk counted on the first screen

A record your clients can rely on.

Radio isn't perfect. A label on metal or behind liquid can be hard to hear, and a reader at a busy door can miss one. So a read counts as proof that an item was seen, and the lack of a read as just that.

A missed read changes nothing

It raises an exception for a person to look at. Stock never changes on its own, and nothing is written off.

How it's known

A place always comes with how it's known: seen in a place or passing a door, when, how clearly, and whether the reading is getting old.

Chained and sealed

Business records, approvals, counts and the audit log are chained together and sealed each day, so a change made afterwards shows up.

Nobody signs off their own work

Nobody approves their own count, their own document or their own role.

InSight Scan, for the warehouse floor and the yard.

The app for Android handhelds and phones. It reads RFID through Zebra's DataWedge, NFC tags through the phone, and barcodes and QR codes through the camera.

It keeps working without a signal. The work stays on the device, encrypted, and goes to the platform when there's a connection, with the times things were read.

  • Identify, check out, check in and count
  • Set up with a QR code from the platform
  • The same sign-in as the portal, or a PIN with no signal
  • Suspended, wiped or revoked from the platform

InSight Bridge, for the readers on site.

A small program for a computer at your client's site, on Linux or in Docker. It connects the RFID readers and label printers on the site's own network to the platform, and makes the only connection out, so nothing on site has to be opened up.

If the internet drops, the readers keep reading. The Bridge keeps their reads on disk and sends them when the connection is back, each with the time it was read.

  • LLRP readers from Impinj, Alien, ThingMagic and Keonn
  • ZPL printer-encoders, each label read back before it's used
  • Days of reads kept through an outage
  • Its set-up sent from the platform, so nothing is typed on site

Set up the way each client works.

Your clients give their people roles for the whole account or for chosen sites, for good or until a date. Someone can be an Operator across the account and a Site Manager at one depot.

When none of the five standard roles fits, they make one of their own from the nearest, area by area.

  • Client Admin, Site Manager, Supervisor, Operator and Auditor
  • A role can't do more than the person who made it could give out
  • Giving or changing a role needs a password, and goes in the audit log
  • Alerts and 75 reports, with your clients' own fields

Questions, answered.

What is InSight RFID?

RFID tracking for the things that don't carry a GPS tracker: stock, tools, crates, roll cages and equipment. Each item gets an RFID label, read by fixed readers at doors, docks and shelves, by handhelds and phones running the InSight Scan app, and by readers on vehicles. Your clients see where each item was last seen and how that's known, who has it, and what went out and came back, in the same account as their vehicles.

Which readers and printers does InSight RFID work with?

Zebra FX7500, FX9600, FXR90 and ATR7000 readers and the Impinj R700 series connect straight to the platform. LLRP readers such as the Impinj Speedway, Alien ALR-F800, ThingMagic Sargas and Izar and Keonn AdvanReader connect through InSight Bridge. Zebra, Chainway, Urovo, Newland and Honeywell handhelds work with the InSight Scan app, and Zebra, POSTEK, SATO and Honeywell printer-encoders encode and print the labels.

Does InSight Scan work without a signal?

Yes. The app keeps its work on the device, encrypted, and sends it when there's a connection, with the times things were read. A PIN signs the user in when there's no signal, for up to 12 hours after they last signed in with their password.

What does InSight Bridge do?

It connects the RFID readers and label printers on a client's own network to the platform. It runs on a computer at the site, on Linux or in Docker, and makes the only connection out, so no ports need opening. If the internet drops, it keeps the reads on disk and sends them when the connection is back.

Can I choose which modules my platform has?

Yes. All the modules are available, and you choose which to switch on when you enquire — dashcams, fuel, sensors, CANbus, driver manager, maintenance, InSight Mesh, InSight BLE, InSight RFID and the rest. You can add or remove them later.
